It is the safety of our employees, customers, and the general public that is the key to running our trucking company. Our drivers must meet a set of minimum requirements before we will even consider them for employment. Each applicant must complete a pre-employment physical and drug test as well as a Federal D.O.T. medical and drug test.
As part of the hiring process, we request DACs, review current MVRs and perform employment verifications. We then put our drivers into our rigorous safety and pneumatic process training class where all drivers are taught the importance of safety as it relates to the employee and the company. Loading and unloading procedures are gone over and new employees are educated on all company policies. To make this work, we utilize quarterly safety meetings, a safety/performance program, road and on-site observations, internal safety audits, a safety recognition program, a customer on-site safety policy, an injury and illness prevention plan, and a Drive Cam system in every truck to keep not only our drivers safe but the public as well. It is management's responsibility to provide a safe working environment for all employees.
It is each employee's responsibility to comply with all Company and regulatory agency requirements governing the operation of Apex Bulk Commodities. Safety will take precedence over expediency or shortcuts in every instance.
